The first version of the PCU software was developed by its founder, Guadalupe Ugarte, for the cost estimation of the Cuzco International Airport, Peru.
After redesigning the PCU software,it was marketed along with unit cost databases in MS- DOS to streamline infrastructure budgeting.
It expanded to new sectors and the software evolved to PCUWIN and PCUWIN2000, incorporating an integrated interface with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
Since moving to Canada in 2004, Ugarte has collaborated with numerous government, corporate and consulting organizations in North America to produce cost estimates for everything from small commercial buildings to industrial megaprojects.
Development of a new estimating web application based on PCU 2000 begins.
The deployment of PCUSystem begins, a web application for multiple industries and regions, available in Spanish and English.
